About the 1769-IF16V
The 1769-IF16V is used with Allen Bradley’s MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. This module is able to accommodate 16 voltage inputs. Each channel can be configured to receive signals +/10VDC, 1-5VDC, 0-5VDC, 0-10VDC with full ranges of +/- 10.5 VDC, 0.5 - 5.25 VDC, -0.5 - +5.25VDC, -0.5 - +10.5VDC respectively. The module has a built in Analog to digital (ADC) circuit to convert the analog input to digital signal for processing. The processed data can be configured as engineering units, scaled for PID, percent range and raw data. The 1769-IF16V is configured using RSLogix 500 when used with MicroLogix 1500, RSLogix5000 or Studio 5000 programming software when used with CompactLogix. Each channel can be individually configured to receive the necessary voltage input range. Process alarms can also be configured by defining the module’s high and low alarm parameters. While other configurable parameters are input filters, real time sampling, alarm deadband and others. Open circuit detection is activated with any enabled channels. This setting is reported as under-range error of the module. This event can be made known to the controller and display as a non-fatal system error. There is no limit with the number of installation analog input module. Ensure that proper power supply sizing is observed. The module can be installed within 8 modules from the power supply. It can be inserted to any adjacent I/O module including the controller in the chassis. Install the module by locating the guide slots of the adjacent module. Slide the module and establish alignment of the bus connectors. Once bus connectors are aligned, move the bus lever to the left until a clicking sound is created.
