About the 1769-IM12
The 1769-IM12 is used with Allen Bradley’s MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. This module has 12 Discrete input points, with internally connected commons. The module can be used on voltage category of 200/240 VAC operating within a voltage range of voltage range of 159…265V AC, 47…63 Hz. The minimum OFF state voltage of this module is 40V AC while ON state is at 159V AC. The module has a signal ON and OFF delay of up to 20ms. Input channels belong to a single group with a common intended for the odd number inputs (Channels 1, 3,5,7,9, 11) and another AC common for even number inputs (Channels 0, 2, 4, 6, 8,10). These commons are internally connected. The 1769-IM12 occupies a single slot in the chassis and shall be installed with a maximum of Eight (8) modules away from the power supply. It has a current draw of 100mA @5.1VDC with heat dissipation of 3.65 W. Themodule does not support Hot-swap feature. Never attempt to install and uninstall the module on a powered or functioning system. Performing this may render the system unresponsive, switch to an uncontrollable state or completely shut down. Use (22…14 AWG) solid or (22…16 AWG) stranded wire for this module. The input signals are terminated to a removable terminal block that comes with the module. Input labels can be put on the included door label strip. Configure the 1769-IM12 using RSLogix 500, RSLogix5000 or Studio 5000 programming software. Configurable parameters for this module are Packet Interval request, module inhibition, slot assignment and revision number.
