About the 1769-IQ32
The 1769-IQ32 is used with Allen Bradley’s MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. This module has Thirty-Two (32) input channels able to receive 24VDC input signals. The module is composed of Four (4) input groups, each group having an 8 input channels. The input groups operate independently which can be used in Sink / Source wiring configuration. The module can also be used with a MicroLogix 1500 along with other CompactLogix I/O components. For sinking inputs configuration, connect the incoming DC common of the incoming signals to the DC COM terminal of the module. For sourcing configuration, terminate the (V+) of the incoming signals to the DC COM of the 1769-IQ32 module. Configure the 1769-IQ32 with RSLogix 500, RSLogix5000 or Studio 5000 programming software. Configurable parameters available are module inhibition, packet interval, slot assignment and revision number. The module’s data files are directly accessed from the software including module diagnostic parameters. The module’s required installation is within 8 modules from the power supply that is. There is no limit to the number of modules that can be used as long as the distance rating is observed. The module can be inserted to any adjacent I/O module including the controller in the chassis. When installing the module, remove power from the backplane by turning off the power supply as electric arcs may occur during the locking of bus levers. The module is intended for mounting to a properly grounded surface such as a grounding bar or a metal panel.
