About the 1769-IR6
The 1769-IR6 is used with Allen Bradley’s MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. This module support Six (6) RTD or direct resistance signal measurements. The module through its Analog to Digital converter circuit translates the resistance measurement to digital values. These values are acceptable through the module’s data table. The module supports up to Six (6) devices. The channels are individually configured via the RSLOgix 500, RSLogix 5000 or Studio5000 programming software. The inputs are configurable to 2 and 3 wire RTDs, direct resistance input and 4-wire sensors. For 4-wire RTDs, one of the 2 compensation wires will not be used thus, the RTD is functioning similar to a 3-Wire RTD. The module supports RTD types Copper 426, Nickel 618, Nickel 672, Nickel-Iron 518, Platinum 385, Platinum 3916. The module’s channels are capable of sensing open circuit, short-circuit and over and under-range sensor detection. Each of the channel filters are individually configured with filtering frequency options 10 Hz 50 Hz 60 Hz 250 Hz 500 Hz 1 kHz. For direct resistance measurement, the module supports 150 ?, 500 ?, 1000 ?, 3000 ?. Direct resistance measurements when used with the module is assumed to be linear in nature. Autocalibration is performed by the module once enabled. This autocalibration feature is cyclic and can be programmed to repeat every Five (5) minutes. This feature can be disabled by accessing Word 6 Bit 0 of the module’s data table. Further configuration of the module includes open circuit response, engineering units, input type, data format, excitation current and data format.
