About the 1769-OA16
The 1769-OA8 is used with Allen Bradley’s MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. This module has Eight (8) 100-240 VAC solid state output channels for use with AC loads. The module Two (2) groups of Four (4) input channels. Each group has individual AC common thereby allowing mixing of 120 and 240 VAC loads. You can configure the 1769-OA8 with RSLogix 500, RSLogix5000 or Studio 5000 programming software, depending on the firmware version. Configurable parameters available are module inhibition, packet interval, slot assignment and revision number. Module addressing and module’s input data files can be accessed using the programming software. Triac is installed in the output circuitry of the module. Surge suppression is ideally installed across each load to extend the life of the triac outputs. The 1769-OA8 has Two (2) groups with Four (4) input points. Each group has separate AC common terminals. Input group 1 are made up of the first half of the 16 inputs ( 0, 1, ,2 ,3) while the remaining channels compose Input (8, 9, 10, 11, 4,5,6,7) group 2. The power supply distance rating of 1769-OA8 is 8 modules. There is no limit to the number of modules that can be used as long as the distance rating is observed. The module can be inserted to any adjacent I/O module including the controller in the chassis. The module can be mounted on a 35 X 75 or 35 X 15 mm DIN rail. When installing the module, remove power from the backplane by turning off the power supply as electric arcs may occur during the locking of bus levers. The mounting surface of the module must be properly grounded by connecting to a grounding bar or a grounded metal panel.
