About the 1769-OF8V
The 1769-OF8V is used with Allen Bradley’s MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. This module has Eight (8) single ended output channels configurable for ± 10V dc, 0 to 10V dc, 0 to 5V dc, 1 to 5V dc. Analog outputs are multistate variables compatible for use with modulating and multi-position control applications. The module has a built-in Digital to Analog converter that converts the Digital data format stored in the module’s data files to Analog signal. Data formats are configured using RSLogix500 when used with a MicroLogix500 controller, RSLogix5000 or Studio5000 programming software when used with CompactLogix controller. Data formats are defined to characterize the output of the controller according to its external use. Data formats available are Raw / Proportional data, Engineering unit, Scaled for PID and Percent full range. Other important configurable parameters are enabling of channels, output range selection, module inhibition, module description and slot assignment. The 1769-OF8V is compatible for use with a MicroLogix 1500 controller or CompactLogix controller. In any installation, the analog output module is to be installed 8 modules within the power supply. Some CompactLogix processor support more than 8 modules. In this case, additional power supply must be installed in the chassis to support more than 8 modules of 1769-OF8V. The module performs self-test in the event when module is power cycled. During the power cycle phase, the module may have no indication until the completion of the self-test. Once in active operation, each new value in the output module is compared to the set high and low clamps. High and low clamps prevent the analog output from exceeding the set limits.
